Mangaluru:* Senior sports columnist *S. Jagadishchandra Anchan, Sooterpete, Mangaluru*, has been conferred with the prestigious *‘Basavashree’ State Award* by Sri Jnana Mandara Educational and Cultural Trust, Bengaluru, during its Silver Jubilee celebrations held at J.S.S. Auditorium, Bengaluru on August 29th.
Anchan has been recognized for his *32 years of dedicated service* in sports journalism, with over 4,500 sports articles and columns* published in Kannada dailies and magazines at district, state and interstate levels.

Along with sports writing, Anchan is also active in the literary field. He has recently authored and released the book *‘Thyagamayi Molahalli’*, which has received wide appreciation across the state.
