Abu Dhabi, UAE: Former President of India Social & Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi, Mr. Mitrampady Jayaram Rai congratulated the Karnataka Government for granting second official language status to Tulu.
Mr. Mitrampady Jayaram Rai told from Abu Dhabi, “This is a historic and golden chapter for Tulu Nadu. On behalf of lakhs of NRIs in the Gulf, I congratulate all Tulu brothers and sisters.”
He told, “I thank Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar and the entire Cabinet for this bold decision. Tulu is not just a language, it is our culture and our emotion.”
He told that Tulu has more than 2000 years of heritage with Naga worship, Bhoota Aradhane, Kambala, Yakshagana and Paddana.
Mr. Rai told, “This victory belongs to all Tulu associations, writers and youths who worked for many years. My special thanks to District Incharge Minister U.T. Khader and Puttur Dynamic MLA Ashok Rai for their continuous support for the cause of Tulu.”
He further told, “This is a big responsibility to save Tulu for the next generation. Let our children learn Tulu in schools. We hope Tulu will soon be included in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.”
