pune:In 1995, with the support of MP Sunil dutt & Dr I S Gilada,Dr Shetty had set an example to the medical faternity that care & health of children of commercial sex workers (CSW) is very important as they are also the future of the community.
After 30 years he is re entering this area to uplift their health by preventing malnutrition & various vitamin deficiency, skin diseases,behavioral problems & School drop outs.
He has recieved the support of the Police department as Dr Shetty works at Police hospital as a Pediatrician.
On the occasion of deepavali Dr Shetty was pledged to bring light and meaning to the life of these children
Dr shetty will be doing this work as a part of the outreach ( community service) programme of his Baby friend clinic.
He will also help all NGOs working in that area.
He is a recipient of horanada kannada ratna & dakshina kannada zilla Rajyotsava award 2022
